Formed in 1880, Imperial Oil is an integrated energy company distinguished for its commitment to research and technology. Known mostly for its Esso and Mobil retail brands, Imperial is Canada's largest producer of petroleum products, refining raw hydrocarbons into over 600 products including gasoline, diesel, heating oil, natural gas, asphalt, lubricants and chemicals used to make plastics. The Challenge

Imperial Oil needed a consistent platform from which to measure their 26 Esso branded resellers—all of whom have multiple branches and varying business scopes. To meet privacy concerns, Imperial's advisors were to see only results.

Our Solution

Working with a few key stakeholders representing the resellers and a team from Imperial Oil, the S2Web platform was modified to allow each reseller to only see information of their own and that of their branches. This was especially challenging when it came to Training as each branch had their own course list and although these were similar, expiration periods varied from one to another.

The Results

The newly modified S2Web safety management software quickly achieved buy-in from resellers as it was a turnkey system and easy to roll-out. Imperial's operations advisors were also happy as they had the numbers they needed at their fingertips to make suggestions for improvement. In 2017, the standard suite of S2Web's safety software modules was increased to include Asset Management & Maintenance.
